The El Morell City Council will invest 137,788.75 euros to expand its video surveillance system, installing 23 new cameras to reinforce security and citizen coexistence starting in January 2026.
The security and citizen coexistence project involves the installation of 23 new cameras, which will expand the current system to a total of 31 devices distributed throughout the municipality. This network also includes license plate readers to enhance municipal prevention capabilities.
The expansion will focus on key areas of public concentration and traffic, such as the entrances and exits of educational centers (the Ventura Gassol school and the INS El Morell institute), the sports complex (Esport passage and access to the football field), and public spaces like the Plaça de l’Estatut and the Plaça de la Fàbrica.
“
"the will of the City Council to continue working for a safer municipality with better coexistence, providing tools for prevention and civility, always in full compliance with current regulations."
In addition to the new installations, the plan includes replacing four obsolete cameras located in the City Hall building, situated in the Castell dels Montoliu, with the aim of modernizing existing equipment and improving the system's overall performance.
“
"they are high definition and incorporate advanced technology that allows improving image quality and system reliability, which represents a step forward in municipal security management."
The new cameras have a minimum resolution of 8 MPx and feature top-level technical specifications, such as infrared illumination up to 60 meters, IK10 anti-vandal protection, and IP67 certification, ensuring high image quality and durability. The consistory plans to continue expanding the system in the future.
