The Guardia Civil seized 500 perfumes and cosmetic products last Tuesday, January 20, from an establishment in Tarragona for failing to comply with the labeling and sanitary guarantees required by the European Union.

The intervention took place last Tuesday, January 20, at a retail establishment in the city of Tarragona. The items, with an estimated value of 17,110 euros, were displayed for public sale without the required documentation.
According to the armed force, the confiscated products originated from non-EU countries such as the United Arab Emirates and China. The main reason for the seizure was the lack of mandatory labeling, which must include essential consumer information, as well as the safety and sanitary guarantees stipulated by European Union legislation.

The seized items lacked the mandatory labeling and the sanitary and safety guarantees required by European Union regulations.

In addition to the deficient labeling, the manager of the Tarragona establishment failed to provide the purchase invoice for the products. This lack of documentation prevented the Guardia Civil agents from verifying the legal importation of the articles.
