The Altafulla City Council has launched an infrastructure project this March in the Baix a Mar neighborhood to install 150 meters of new storm drains and prevent seasonal flooding.

The works are focused on Via Augusta street, a critical point where the old drainage network was severely damaged. The new system aims to ensure that rainwater flows quickly towards the sea instead of accumulating in the streets.

"The goal is for the water to leave quickly as soon as it reaches critical points, preventing the accumulation that has historically occurred."

Jordi Molinera · Mayor of Altafulla
With a budget of 50,000 euros, the project is scheduled for completion by Easter. Meanwhile, the town is also planning a new lamination basin at the Puntet roundabout, which will involve archaeological surveys to check for Roman remains.
