The MIR Spain Association has requested an external audit from the Ministry of Health to review the exam of Elena Bianca Ciobanu, a URV student in Tarragona who achieved the highest score in Spain.

The controversy erupted after the candidate from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili achieved a score of 188 net points, an unprecedented figure in the history of the medical residency exam. This result has raised suspicions among former classmates and medical professionals in Tarragona.

"We are going to ask for these anomalous cases to be reviewed. An audit, a review, statistical analysis to determine values that fall outside the averages."

Daniel Selva Talón · General Secretary of the MIR Spain Association
The AME has scheduled a meeting with the Ministry of Health for late March to discuss potential security breaches. The association suggests that new technologies, such as hidden earpieces or smart glasses, could be behind such atypical results.

"My participation in the MIR has been transparent and there is nothing irregular. I feel very proud of the results of my preparation."

Elena Bianca Ciobanu · Top-ranked MIR student
While the URV has declined to comment until the final grades are published, the student maintains her innocence. Ciobanu stated she is calm and that her success is the result of hard work and significant personal sacrifices.
