The Metropolitan Impulse Association of Camp de Tarragona awarded a contract this March 2026 to define the legal structure of the future Agency for Development and Competitiveness in the Tarragona region.

This administrative step aims to establish the legal formulation of an entity that will be vital for regional governance. The work has been entrusted to the Màrius Viadel i Martín Chair of Local Legal Studies at Rovira i Virgili University (URV), led by Dr. Josep Ramon Fuentes i Gasó.
The expert team, including Dr. Judith Gifreu i Font and Dr. Daniele Donati, will design the administrative procedures and institutional instruments required. The process will be coordinated with member city councils to ensure a solid institutional fit across the metropolitan area.
The future agency will focus on attracting investment, enhancing mobility, and promoting sustainability. This initiative strengthens Camp de Tarragona's ability to act coordinately regarding future economic challenges and regional competitiveness.
