The Department of Education has estimated the turnout for the teachers' strike in Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre, and Penedès at 34.37% this Tuesday, March 17th.

The second day of regional education strikes has seen a significant gap between official and union figures. While the government based its data on reports from 87.6% of schools, the USTEC union claims the actual participation was as high as 70%.
The strike involves civil service teachers, interim staff, and administrative personnel. These protests aim to demand further labor improvements beyond the current agreement between the Government and the CCOO and UGT unions.
This regional action follows Monday's strike in Barcelonès and Baix Llobregat, where official turnout was recorded at 29.04%. Other sectors, including nursery schools and educational leisure staff, were also called to join the protest.
