The Department of the Interior will give the green light for drone surveillance in rocky and difficult-to-access areas of Tarragona's beaches to enhance safety.

The Department of Interior will authorize drone surveillance in rocky and difficult-to-access areas on Tarragona's beaches. This was stated by councilor Núria Parlon, who explained that the Tarragona City Council has requested authorization to fly drones over the most complex zones to monitor them "from the perspective of lifeguard services."
According to the councilor, the request was made following the death of three minors who had an accident at Arrabassada beach. The measure aims to prevent similar situations and improve swimmer safety.
Councilor Parlon presented the campaign 'A l’aigua, fem equip' (In the water, let's team up), which aims to educate and raise awareness among bathers to prevent "tragic" situations on the beaches.
