The leader of the opposition in Tarragona, Xavi Puig (ERC), stated this March that Mayor Rubén Viñuales has lost political trust by failing to fulfill budget agreements for new civic centers.

The Republican party highlighted the breach of the 2024 budget pact. According to Puig, the socialist government committed to opening five civic centers in the City Center and Levante areas, a project currently stalled despite previous agreements.

"Mayor Viñuales does not deserve trust because he does not keep his word. The consequence is not paid by ERC councilors, but by the citizens of Tarragona."

Regarding public health, ERC is demanding 24/7 stroke care at Joan XXIII Hospital. The opposition criticizes the Mayor's absence from recent demonstrations and insists that Tarragona residents deserve the same medical standards as those in Barcelona or Girona.
