A special team from the Vila-seca City Council Municipal Brigade demolished the popular La Pineda Sand Nativity Scene on the morning of January 9, concluding the edition that attracted over 250,000 visitors.

The dismantling operation began at 10:00 AM on January 9, when an excavator accessed the 400 square meter sculptural complex. This edition of the nativity scene, which has become an essential Christmas event in the area, recorded a visitor count similar to the previous year.
The artwork was made with 350 cubic meters of sand and was created by ten international artists from countries including Belgium, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Latvia, the Czech Republic, and Catalonia. This year's theme was inspired by peace and the pacifist movements of the 1960s.
The machinery only took about 10 minutes to move the sand and completely dismantle the figures. Shortly after the work began, none of the figures with long hair and beards, some arranged in a circle and surrounded by flowers, could be distinguished. The artists required one week of labor to shape the sculptures.
