Torrential rains that hit the Baix Penedès and southern Tarragonès regions have left a trail of mud and damage, prompting affected individuals to begin cleanup and damage assessment.

After intense rainfall in the Baix Penedès and southern Tarragonès, residents and businesses impacted by the floods have started to tally the damages. Campsites in the area have allowed guests back to their plots to salvage belongings and begin cleaning the accumulated mud.
At the Arc de Barà campsite in Roda de Berà, one client lamented that "the water has ruined almost everything," highlighting the extent of the damage. This campsite had to evacuate 300 people due to the downpours. The bursting of the stream's wall triggered the flooding, exacerbated by the passage under the train bridge becoming completely blocked with containers and campers' vehicles that were swept away.
Some affected campers are now urging the administration to implement preventive measures to stop similar incidents from recurring in facilities located in flood-prone zones. "This cannot happen again," asserted another camper from Roda de Berà. Caravans are covered in mud, and in the lower parts of the site, where water reached waist-high, numerous objects and appliances are ruined.
The campsite management has confirmed contact with the insurance company to determine which damages will be covered. Meanwhile, in Creixell, cranes have been working since Saturday to remove vehicles trapped by the mud. In El Vendrell, efforts to clear the approximately thirty vehicles stranded in the Maramar hotel's car park continue on Sunday, though the draining process is expected to take longer.
The rainfall recorded over 100 liters per square meter in several locations within the Baix Penedès and southern Tarragonès, according to Meteocat data. El Vendrell registered 146 liters, and Torredembarra recorded 137 liters, where work is still underway to pump out accumulated water from the beach access tunnels.
