A total of 14,421 formal objections have been submitted by local authorities and citizens against the high-voltage power line (MAT) project between Aragon and Tarragona this March.

The No to MAT Catalonia – Aragon Platform stated that the high number of claims reflects the territory's opposition. Key objectors include the Priorat, Baix Camp, and Terra Alta regional councils, as well as twenty local town halls and agricultural unions like Unió de Pagesos.
The project by Red Eléctrica aims to replace the existing line to la Secuita with a new one that triples the current power capacity. The infrastructure would span 180 kilometers, featuring towers up to 55 meters high, impacting 28 municipalities across the Tarragona region.
