PortAventura World officially began its 2026 season this Friday in Tarragona, marking the fourth consecutive year that Carnival festivities serve as the grand opening event for the resort.

Five award-winning carnival troupes from Tarragona, including Pandora and Sinhus, are providing entertainment across the park. While the general public can visit starting Saturday, February 28, hotel guests and season pass holders enjoyed an exclusive preview this afternoon.

"It is a very important day because we start the season and Carnival with a proposal full of energy, music, and dance."

Noémie Serrano · Product Manager at PortAventura World
The resort aims to surpass last year's record of 5.3 million visitors. New developments for the summer include the Coral Bay family area at the water park and the Makamanu Jungle trek in the Polynesia section.
Daily operations will resume on March 27. Park officials hope to have the Dragon Khan roller coaster back in service by then, as it is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance.
