A 45-year-old woman was rescued this Friday afternoon in the municipality of La Riba, in the Alt Camp region, after suffering a fall that resulted in an ankle fracture while hiking near the Brugent River.

The incident took place near the Masets refuge. The emergency call was received at 3:04 PM, when a companion of the victim alerted emergency services about the potential serious injury.
To address the situation, a ground unit from the Generalitat Firefighters and a rescue helicopter with personnel from the Special Actions Group (GRAE) were mobilized. The teams managed to reach the woman, who was conscious and oriented, despite the ankle fracture.
After immobilizing her leg with a splint, a hoisting maneuver was performed to evacuate her to an ambulance. Subsequently, the injured woman was transferred to a hospital to receive the necessary medical attention.
