Despite significant rainfall in recent months, local water sources have not recovered in a uniform or sufficient manner. The Tarragonès municipality reported that the supply system remains under pressure, particularly in northern neighborhoods, necessitating a cautious management of water resources.
Key measures for the upcoming summer season include the closure of all beach showers, although foot-washes will remain operational. The council is also implementing efficiency criteria for public spaces and has launched a campaign to detect hidden leaks in the network, supported by the Catalan Water Agency (ACA).
To ensure long-term water security, Roda de Berà continues to work on connecting to the Ebro water transfer system via the Tarragona Water Consortium (CAT). This project is expected to improve the recovery of the local supply system once completed.
