The Spanish Senate's Transport Commission approved on March 17 a series of measures to improve road safety and maintenance on the AP-7 and A-27 highways in Tarragona.

The initiative, promoted by Senator Laura Castel, focuses on upgrading emergency zones along the AP-7. These areas will receive better lighting, new signage, and GPS integration with the 112 emergency services to enhance driver safety.
Regarding the A-27, the plan includes urgent road surface repairs between Tarragona and la Pobla de Mafumet. It also establishes a maintenance schedule for drainage systems in Constantí to prevent agricultural land from flooding during heavy rains.
The motion also demands the swift completion of the A-27 section between Valls and Montblanc, a long-awaited infrastructure project for the region's mobility.
