The Tarragona Carnival 2026 celebrated its first major event on Sunday, February 8, with the Disfressa d'Or (Golden Costume) competition. The event, held at the Tarraco Arena, crowned the troupe Som i Serem as the overall winner. The group secured broad support from the jury thanks to a spectacular proposal inspired by India.
The second prize of the night went to the troupe Aerodance, which presented its creation under the title Sortilega. The gala, celebrating its 26th edition, was hosted by journalist Guillem Estadella and artist Gemma Polo.
The show filled the Tarraco Arena with over 3,000 people, demonstrating the high level of choreography and decorative elements.

Furthermore, the troupes Sinhus and Urban Style played a special role as the organizers of the Carnival Queen and her Concubine.
