The Catalan Meteorological Service has issued yellow alerts for Tarragona as Storm Regina approaches, bringing severe winds, rough sea conditions, and widespread rainfall expected to last until Saturday.

After two weeks of stable weather, a new atmospheric low is changing conditions across the region. Meteocat predicts that wind gusts could exceed 70 km/h between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, specifically targeting the Tarragonès and Baix Penedès districts.
Maritime conditions are also a concern, with waves expected to reach heights of over 2.5 meters. Consequently, Civil Protection has activated pre-alerts for the VENTCAT and INUNCAT emergency plans, with a particular focus on the Terres de l'Ebre area and the entire Tarragona coastline.
Rainfall is forecast to intensify on Thursday, with the snow level dropping to 1,800 meters in mountainous areas. Drivers are advised to exercise caution as wet weather and poor visibility are likely to persist through to the weekend.
