Tarragona City Council has initially approved the special plan to organize the area of the former Casa Foixà, a plot that has remained without a solution since its partial collapse in July 2012.

The document approved by the Local Government Board establishes urban guidelines for the area, located at number 11 Cavallers Street. This approval marks the beginning of an administrative process that includes a one-month public information period for submitting allegations.
The project seeks to resolve the paralysis of this space, bounded by Ripoll Square and Mediona, Cavallers, and Riudecols streets. The proposed regulations emphasize the conservation of interior gardens and the recovery of historical volumes, while respecting any archaeological remains that may be found.
Although the plan does not define a specific project, the urban framework allows for uses such as hospitality. The preliminary study included in the proposal considers the possibility of an establishment with about 100 rooms, designed to adapt to the terrain's topography and minimize visual impact on the historical environment.
Meanwhile, the council has suspended for a maximum of two years the granting of licenses that could interfere with future planning. Once the initial approval is passed, the document must receive the approval of the municipal plenary and the Territorial Urban Planning Commission.
