The Generalitat de Catalunya has documented 846 new victims of the Spanish Civil War and the Franco dictatorship in Tarragona, successfully identifying 749 of them by name.

The technical report, titled The mortal victims of the Civil War and Francoism in Tarragona, was led by the Directorate General of Democratic Memory. The research also accounts for 97 unidentified victims, including men, women, and children.
Significant findings were made regarding the Military Hospital at the Savinosa building, where 231 deaths were recorded. Many of these, specifically 67 individuals, died from diseases such as typhus rather than direct combat actions.
The total number of victims in Tarragona now stands at 2,340. This includes 1,007 victims of Francoist repression, with nearly 800 executions documented alongside deaths at the Pilats Prison.
