The initiative has allowed young people to visit iconic sites in an immersive way, such as Castell de Miravet, the church of Sant Joan de Boí, the Roca dels Moros site in El Cogul, and the Cartoixa d'Escaladei. This Thursday, a group of 2nd-year secondary students from Institut Tarragona concluded their pedagogical sessions with a virtual immersion in the Carthusian monastery.
The program combines the use of technology with prior pedagogical work in the classroom. According to sources from the arts and culture promotion program, this methodology makes learning more enriching and motivating for students, who can interact with architectural and artistic elements dynamically.
“"What we liked most were the parts where we could interact because it is very fun and it felt real."
Teachers have integrated this activity into the Projects subject, adapting the content to the reality of each school. Students have worked on diverse topics, ranging from the organization of social classes to the architectural aspects of the monuments. As a final project, the students will provide a final assessment and visit the Cartoixa d'Escaladei in person next June.
