Thousands of teachers and farmers gathered this Tuesday at Plaça Imperial Tarraco in Tarragona to protest against recent education agreements and demand stronger support for public services.

The demonstration brought together educators from across the Tarragona region who arrived in the city after staging several road blockades. The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the deal reached between the Department of Education and minority unions, claiming it fails to address core issues like classroom ratios.

"The favors to private-subsidized schools always harm the public ones. We will not allow the lack of resources in public education."

The group Revolta Pagesa joined the march, highlighting shared concerns such as excessive bureaucracy and the need for long-term public policies. The Guàrdia Urbana had to redirect traffic in the city center as the square remained occupied by protesters throughout the afternoon.
