A dozen people have been arrested in a coordinated large-scale police operation in Camp de Tarragona targeting a network involved in the import and distribution of counterfeit goods for street vendors.

Since early this morning, a joint police operation has been underway in Camp de Tarragona, with its epicenter in Salou, targeting an organization dedicated to the import, storage, and distribution of counterfeit products that infringe industrial property rights. The operation, led by the Mossos d'Esquadra with the collaboration of the Spanish National Police and the Civil Guard, has resulted in the arrest of about ten individuals.
The police action focused on a residence in Salou, specifically on Església street, where counterfeit merchandise was allegedly stored before being distributed to street vendors. In addition to the arrests, large quantities of counterfeit products have been seized.
The operation involved simultaneous raids in several municipalities within Camp de Tarragona, including Reus, considered another key hub for this activity. This action comes a year after another major operation in Salou that led to 18 arrests and disturbances.
Unlike last year's operation, no incidents or altercations between street vendors and security forces have been reported this time. The detainees will be brought before the judicial authorities shortly, although the total amount of seized material has not yet been specified.
