The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Tarragona City Police deployed a large security operation this evening in the Bonavista neighborhood to separate a Vox march from an anti-fascist counter-protest.

The mobilization called by the far-right party gathered around a hundred people. The planned route aimed to reach the future Islamic Community of Bonavista worship center on 11th Street. Meanwhile, approximately 300 people gathered in front of the religious facility to voice their rejection of the political group's presence.
Moments of tension occurred during the march as some neighbors confronted the Vox protesters. Minor scuffles and an egg thrown at a participant were reported, though the police successfully kept the groups apart. MP Sergio Macián criticized the police deployment and the local administration's management.

"This shows that Vox has made a fool of itself with this initiative that does not respond to a real concern of the neighborhood."

Rubén Viñuales · Mayor of Tarragona
Mayor Rubén Viñuales defended the social harmony in Tarragona and downplayed the protest's impact, noting that most attendees were not local residents. He reaffirmed the city's commitment to social cohesion against divisive rhetoric.
