The Auditori Josep Carreras and the Conservatori de Vila-seca are collaborating to organize this new musical event, which will include concerts, an international competition, masterclasses, and the premiere of the Orquestra Mediterrània de Guitarres. The festival aims to combine artistic excellence with training and the promotion of emerging talent in the guitar scene.
A highlight will be the recital by the renowned guitarist David Russell, a GRAMMY award winner, on July 2nd at the Auditori Josep Carreras. His participation places ViGFest among the world's major guitar events.
The evening of July 3rd will focus on Carles Trepat, an influential figure in Catalan and European guitar. This concert will feature the premiere of the Orquestra Mediterrània de Guitarres, conducted by Enrique Lop and comprising around thirty guitarists. There will also be a tribute to Fernando Rodríguez, who recently passed away and had a long-standing connection with the Conservatori de Vila-seca.
The festival also maintains its link with the 7th Vila-seca Guitar Competition, scheduled for July 1st. This competition will serve as a platform for young performers across various categories, culminating in a concert by the winners.
The educational aspect will be further enhanced by masterclasses given by Carles Trepat on July 2nd and 4th at the Conservatori de Vila-seca.
