The severe winds that have affected Tarragona since last Wednesday ended this Monday, leaving a total of 600 calls to the 112 emergency line in the province and numerous material incidents.

Civil Protection deactivated the VENTCAT emergency plan alert on Monday afternoon, although a pre-alert remains due to persistent lower-intensity winds. The episode, which began on February 11, featured two critical peaks: one last Thursday and a second lasting from Saturday until today, specifically hitting the Terres de l'Ebre and the Tarragona coastline.
In the region, the municipalities of Tortosa and l'Ametlla de Mar were among the hardest hit during the final stage of the storm. The Bombers de la Generalitat managed over 1,100 calls across Catalonia, mostly related to fallen trees, urban furniture damage, and issues with solar panels and roofs.
Regarding personal injuries, the SEM medical services managed 473 incidents. Tragically, one person died last Thursday when a roof collapsed in an industrial warehouse. In terms of mobility, the Servei Català de Trànsit maintains overtaking restrictions for heavy vehicles on the AP-7 highway.
