The Easter return operation has caused heavy traffic and congestion on the AP-7 in the province of Tarragona, while most vehicles have already returned to the Barcelona metropolitan area.

The final day of the Easter holiday return operation has been marked by a staggered return, but with various complications on Catalan roads. By six in the afternoon this Monday, 83.1% of the expected vehicles, representing 437,971 units, had already reached the Barcelona metropolitan area. A total of 590,000 vehicles are expected to return before midnight.
One of the most notable incidents occurred at midday on the C-32, where a vegetation fire forced the closure of the motorway, significantly affecting traffic flow. Additionally, traffic problems have been reported on several sections of the A-2 and on the C-16 near Berga, highlighting the intensity of vehicle returns after the public holidays.
In the province of Tarragona, the AP-7 has been one of the most affected points. Traffic jams of up to six kilometers were observed between Sant Jaume dels Domenys and Banyeres del Penedès heading towards Barcelona, although at times queues reached eleven kilometers. Four kilometers of dense traffic were also reported between Vila-seca and Vinyols i els Arcs northbound, and approximately 2.5 kilometers of congestion near L'Ampolla, also heading towards the Catalan capital.
