The 13th Albert Iturria Photo Contest in Vila-seca rewards local farming

Photographer Paula Charles won the first prize of the 13th Albert Iturria Photographic Contest, held in Vila-seca last Saturday, highlighting local agricultural work.

The contest, framed within the events of the Winter Major Festival in Vila-seca, awarded the first prize of 700 euros to Paula Charles for an image from her series Nous pagesos (New Farmers). The second prize, endowed with 350 euros, went to Cristina Antillés, with a photograph from the series Arrels de llum (Roots of Light).
Finally, the third prize, worth 175 euros, was given to Xavi Barrullas for his work El gest antic de collir (The Ancient Gesture of Harvesting). The theme of this thirteenth edition of the Albert Iturria contest focused exclusively on farming in Vila-seca.
In the children's category, the works of Idaire Trabalon and Èlia Ulldemolins were recognized, receiving 50 euros each in school supplies. Following the announcement of the winners, the exhibition was inaugurated, featuring a total of 37 photographs submitted to the competition.
The jury for this edition was composed of several municipal representatives and figures from the world of photography. Participants included councilors Manuela Moya, Josep Toquero, and Josep Forasté, along with Sílvia Iturria, daughter of the honored photographer, and professional photographer Sílvia Amador.
