The project, partially funded by Next Generation Funds through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, aims to enhance the value of the Roman villa of Cal·lípolis and its landscape.
The contract was awarded for 8,232,007 euros and is part of the plan 'Cal·lípolis, the sustainable balance'. The first phase will focus on the 3,000 square meter building, located in La Pineda, followed by the external urbanization of the entire facility.
The facility's design is the work of the Olot creative workshop RCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta ARQUITECTES, a firm that received the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, considered the Nobel Prize of architecture, in 2017.
The center is conceived as a set of volumes on a platform, covered by a vegetable shade structure, aiming for maximum integration with the typical pine forest habitat of the Catalan coast, serving as a tourist attraction and a reference space for the local population.
