The day began with a free popular breakfast, organized as a token of gratitude to the 240 members of the Amics i Amigues del Parc del Reguer association, a significant number for a municipality like Tornabous.
Subsequently, an educational talk on birds of prey was offered by a ranger from Mas de Melons, allowing attendees to learn about species such as the peregrine falcon and the Eurasian eagle-owl. Concurrently, the park hosted a wide range of activities, including children's games, face painting, a popular vermouth, a picnic lunch, and a concert.
The natural space also showcased several improvements. The picnic area has been renovated with the removal of unhealthy poplars and the planting of mulberry trees. Furthermore, the association plans to install a drip irrigation system to ensure the healthy growth of the new trees.
The Aplec del Reguer highlights the evolution of this park, which began its recovery in 2010 and received a significant boost during the pandemic thanks to the altruistic involvement of a group of volunteers. Currently, the space features a greenway of over two kilometers, a picnic area, a children's park, ping-pong tables, a restroom, and educational elements.
