The town of Bell-lloc d'Urgell has launched the Bell-jazz festival, a cultural initiative designed to revitalize the municipality by honoring the complex history of its local landmarks.

Last Friday, the Gumbo Jass Band opened the festival with a performance inspired by New Orleans. held in a historic building near the N-II highway, the venue has a storied past, having served as a site for anti-Francoist meetings and nightlife during the 20th century.
Local figures such as former mayor Josep Cau have highlighted the significance of repurposing these spaces for art. Organized by councilor Lluïsa, the festival aims to bring high-quality jazz to the heart of the region.
The upcoming lineup features Joana Cebolla and Pixie Dixie. The festival will conclude in two weeks with a special performance by American singer Tui Higgings, marking a successful start for this new cultural tradition.
