The Espai Ermengol-City Museum of La Seu d'Urgell launched a new inclusive tour format this Saturday, where people with disabilities act as official guides for the cheese exhibition.

The initiative, titled El formatge ens uneix (Cheese Unites Us), is a collaboration between the museum, Fundació Integra Pirineus, and Club Social El Picot. It aims to enhance accessibility in the cultural sector by involving people with mental health conditions directly in heritage dissemination.
Guides Thatiana, Clara, and Imma led the first group of thirty visitors. Their preparation involved nine months of training, including visits to the Escola Agrària del Pirineu and local producers like La Reula to master the history and production of local cheeses.

"The exhibition hasn't changed; what has changed is the narrative."

Anna López · Museum Technician
The next scheduled tour will take place on Thursday, February 26th. Museum officials are also considering including this inclusive format in the upcoming Fira de Sant Ermengol program.
