The La Seu d'Urgell City Council awarded a contract this Monday to Ribalta i Fills S.A. for the urban transformation of Regència d'Urgell street, focusing on pedestrian priority.

The project, valued at nearly 800,000 euros, will convert the section between Pau Claris avenue and Llorenç Tomàs i Costa street into a single-level platform. This design aims to improve safety and comfort for those traveling on foot or by bicycle, while also boosting local commercial activity.

"These changes will define what 21st-century urbanism and streets should be."

Joan Barrera · Mayor of La Seu d'Urgell
Construction is expected to last eight months, with the goal of having the street operational for the Sant Ermengol Fair. This initiative is part of a broader urban plan, supported by the Neighborhood Plan, to enhance the entrance to the historic center from the Eixample district.
