In Tàrrega, Rosa Maria Perelló has been reinstated as Mayor this March following a successful motion of censure led by Junts and CUP against the incumbent Alba Pijuan.

The political shift in the capital of Urgell is significant due to its status as the second-largest municipality in Lleida. High-profile politicians, including Jordi Turull and Oriol Junqueras, attended the session to witness the change in local government.
The alliance between the conservative Junts and the far-left CUP has raised eyebrows, especially after the CUP national leadership distanced itself from the local agreement. Perelló now faces just over a year to implement her agenda before the end of the current term.
Meanwhile, at the regional level, the Catalan Government has withdrawn its budget proposal to avoid a parliamentary defeat. A credit supplement of 6,000 million euros has been approved to cover essential personnel expenses while negotiations continue.
