The Ateneu de Tàrrega hosted the launch of the book 100 motius per estimar la sardana on Wednesday, a work that explores the social and cultural impact of this traditional dance.

Authors Jaume Nonell and Jordi Saura, both prominent cultural activists, presented their work which outlines a hundred reasons why the sardana remains a vital symbol of Catalan identity and collective participation.

"The book proposes a close and inspiring look at this traditional Catalan dance. Through a hundred reasons, the authors highlight its value as a symbol of cohesion."

Carles Vall · President of the Agrupació Amics de la Sardana de Tàrrega
The book emphasizes the inclusive nature of the dance, the unique sound of the cobla orchestra, and how the tradition continues to evolve with new compositions and young performers in Tàrrega and beyond.
