The Minister of Agriculture, Òscar Ordeig, confirmed on Wednesday the first case of African Swine Fever (ASF) in a wild boar within Barcelona, leading to the closure of Collserola.

This latest case brings the total number of infections to 220 since the outbreak began. Starting Thursday, a new resolution will officially ban recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, and dog walking in the Collserola Natural Park to prevent further spread.

"We are continuing with the containment strategy; while closing the entire park is impossible, we are reinforcing captures and monitoring."

The measures impact 18 municipalities, including Sant Cugat and Terrassa. While forest paths and picnic areas are closed, residents can still access their homes and local businesses located within the park boundaries.
