CN Rubí water polo players recognized for international achievements

The Catalan Swimming Federation has honored three club athletes for their victories with the Catalan national team in European and World championships.

The Catalan Swimming Federation has honored three water polo athletes from CN Rubí for their outstanding international achievements with the Catalan national team during the 2024/2025 season.

Among those recognized, Erika Douton won the U16 European Championship in Istanbul (Turkey), while Luna Vara was crowned U18 European Champion in Gzira (Malta). Additionally, Aran Pina secured the U20 World Championship in Zagreb (Croatia). The awards ceremony, held at the Auditori Atrium de Viladecans, was attended by club representatives.
Regarding current sports news, CN Rubí's senior water polo teams are heading into the final phase of the league. The women's team maintains a solid first position, four points ahead of the second-placed CN Barcelona, after a convincing 17-6 victory against CW Elx Manolet. Player Lídia Trigo was named MVP of that match. The Rubí team's next match will be this Saturday against CN Cuatro Caminos.
The men's team, for its part, achieved an important 12-14 victory at the CD Boadilla pool, securing their fifth win of the season and moving away from the relegation play-off positions. Player Sebastian Susak was recognized as the MVP of the match.
In triathlon, CN Rubí also had a notable participation in the second edition of the Catalan Absolute and GGEE Super Sprint Championship, held in El Prat de Llobregat. Cristina Aguilera finished 28th in the women's general classification and was crowned champion in her age category (50-54 years), while Emillio Oviedo finished 84th in the men's general and 5th in the 55-59 age category.
