This initiative aims to provide cultural, wellness, and personal development programs for its members, broadening the club's scope. According to club sources, sport and culture share many commonalities, such as emotions and feelings, and the challenge is to create an environment where both disciplines coexist.
Manel Pérez, second vice-president of the social area, emphasizes the club's commitment to "continuing to open up to the city and the neighborhood, and fostering the classical ideal of ‘mens sana in corpore sano’", highlighting the connection between sport, health, and educational values.
Domènec Escanilla, a member of the cultural committee, has outlined the operational guidelines for the new space, which will include book presentations, reading clubs, visits to literary sites, theater outings, conferences, and cooperation and solidarity actions.
The initial activities are already scheduled. This Friday, June 5th, at 6:30 PM, the Antic Bar hall will host the presentation of the book XXL, from Olympic Gold to the Fight Against Fatphobia, written by Terrassa water polo player Paula Leitón. Subsequently, on June 10th, a reading club will commence with the novel The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of its first edition.
