On May 25th, the Castellbisbal Town Hall council meeting became the scene of a tense session that highlighted the collapse of the municipal governing pact.

The packed council chamber hosted what has been described as the culmination of a "toxic" relationship between the three political groups that initially formed the government. Junts per Catalunya Castellbisbal has repeatedly pointed out the lack of harmony among the partners, arguing that the pact was based more on "acting against someone" than on a genuine will to work for the common good of the citizens.
According to the opposition, this lack of understanding has kept the government paralyzed since the beginning of the term. The council meeting publicly confirmed the disagreements, with recriminations and cross-accusations that the opposition labels a "tragicomedy" that has squandered the term's time and the work done in previous legislatures.
The question of why the split is happening now, when disagreements were evident long ago, suggests to Junts per Catalunya Castellbisbal a desire to "retain their seats and avoid losing power." The direct impact of this situation falls on the municipality's interests.
Despite the gravity of the events, the opposition has stated its political responsibility to not "criminalize actions" and to focus on minimizing damage to the town. Junts per Catalunya Castellbisbal reaffirms its stance "alongside the residents."
