The Esbart Sant Cugat presented the performance 'Condemnades a dansar' in the Plaça de la Vila, in front of the Town Hall, during the city's main festival.

The Esbart Sant Cugat delivered a standout performance on Thursday night of the Festa Major with the show Condemnades a dansar, staged in the Plaça de la Vila, in front of the Sant Cugat Town Hall. The production draws inspiration from the Valencian legend El Trib Reial, which recounts the eternal dance sentence imposed on a group of people for ignoring a funeral procession. Based on this narrative, the dance and celebration transformed into a collective curse, trapping the performers in ceaseless motion.
Artistic direction and choreography were managed by Eulàlia Mateu, while musical direction was led by Selma Bruna with support from Iker Coll. The costume design and creation were by Judith Guardia, with production support from Andreu Tarrés.
The Dance Corps of the Esbart Sant Cugat brought this new creation to life. This year's Festa Major features 205 activities and the participation of 82 entities.
