A forest fire reported this Saturday in the Ronda de Ponent area of Terrassa has burned between two and two and a half hectares of riverside vegetation and a crop field.

The alert was received at 16:00. Initially, the extinguishing operation involved nine Bombers crews and a water-bombing helicopter. Once the incident was stabilized and perimetered, six crews remained on-site to carry out dampening tasks and prevent any remaining hot spots from reigniting.
The incident coincides with the activation of level 3 of the Pla Alfa in Terrassa and 118 other municipalities in Catalunya. This very high-risk level involves the suspension of any activity with fire risk, such as the use of pyrotechnic material or tools that could generate sparks near forest masses.
The Agents Rurals have called on the public to avoid accessing natural spaces and forest areas to minimize the risk of accidents. Various police forces and the Agrupacions de Defensa Forestal will maintain surveillance operations as long as the current high-danger situation persists.
