The Sant Cugat del Vallès City Council has begun replacing 1,416 street lighting points with LED technology, a project set to be completed before the summer of 2026.

The local government is allocating 385,000 euros to this energy renovation. According to municipal estimates, the switch will generate an annual saving of 63,000 euros on the electricity bill and reduce CO2 emissions by 97 tons per year.
Following this initiative, 50% of the city's public lighting will feature LED technology. The project covers 33 urban areas, including the neighborhoods of Can Barata, Mas Fortuny, and Sol i Aire.
Work has already been completed in 21 zones, such as Ronda Nord and Via Augusta. The remaining 12 areas are expected to be finished by June, improving energy efficiency across the entire municipality.
