The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Civil Guard carried out a second inspection this Tuesday at the IRTA-CReSA facilities, located in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

The operation was ordered by the Court number 2 of Cerdanyola del Vallès, which keeps the proceedings under judicial seal. This intervention follows the one carried out on December 18, when police forces seized documentation and biological samples from the laboratory.
The research center has expressed its willingness to maintain full cooperation with judicial authorities. In a statement, the entity emphasized that technical evaluations conducted so far have not detected any incidents in biosafety protocols or genetic matches between their strains and the virus detected in the African swine fever outbreak.
Parallel to the judicial process, the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food have promoted external audits and genomic analyses. An official report published on February 9 concluded that there were no structural deficiencies or genetic matches linking the center's activity to the origin of the disease.
