The incident occurred around half past three in the afternoon, approximately 30 meters from the usual takeoff area of Club Alaire Parapent, located on the local road TV-7092, near the Arbolí Viewpoint.
One of the two occupants of the paraglider sustained a strong impact to the hip, resulting in serious injury. The Emergency Medical System (SEM) activated a medicalized helicopter, two joint teams with firefighters, and an ambulance to attend to the situation.
The Bombers de la Generalitat deployed specialized units, including GRAE Cerdanyola with a helicopter, GRAE Valls, and personnel from the Prades and Cambrils parks, as well as the Emergency Region.
Shortly after five in the afternoon, the injured paraglider was rescued using the helicopter's winch and subsequently transported to Joan XXIII Hospital for medical attention.
