A total of sixteen minors and one adult were injured this March 18 at the Rubí municipal swimming pool following an accidental toxic chemical mixture that caused dizziness and vomiting.

The incident occurred during the afternoon at the sports facilities in Rubí, Vallès Occidental. An accidental chemical reaction forced the Bombers de la Generalitat to evacuate approximately eighty people. Authorities confirmed the leak was contained within the building and did not affect the surrounding area.
The Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) deployed ten ambulances to the scene. Among the injured, eight minors are in less serious condition and eight are slightly injured. An adult male was also treated for less serious injuries. Most patients suffered from nausea and respiratory discomfort.
Protecció Civil activated the Procicat emergency plan in its pre-alert phase. Seven Bombers crews worked on ventilating the premises, while the Rubí Local Police assisted with the evacuation and site security.
