This intervention will focus on a key sector of Vallparadís Park, near the entrance to Casa Baumann, which serves as a link for numerous users, including students. The current glass structures were installed in 2010, during the urbanization works of Hortes dels Frares and the extension of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) line.

Since their installation, these elements have suffered constant acts of vandalism and breakages, forcing the council to carry out frequent repairs. The new project plans to replace the damaged glass with metal panels featuring stainless steel bars, offering a more robust and durable solution.

In addition to the railing renovation, the works will include the repair of the granite stone cladding on the walls and pavement. A double handrail will also be installed to improve accessibility and safety for all pedestrians. The project has been awarded for an amount of 71,854.71 euros (including VAT), representing a 10.18% reduction from the initial tender budget.

During the awarding process, the City Council considered criteria for ecological public procurement and environmental training for the site manager. The works, scheduled to begin in 2026, have an estimated execution period of twelve weeks. This intervention aims to provide this strategic point for pedestrian mobility in Terrassa with more resilient infrastructure and definitively put an end to the incidents caused by vandalism in recent years.
