This figure includes transportation to the destination, accommodation, and expenses incurred during the stay. The Annual Report on Tourist Activity 2025 in Vallès Occidental, prepared by the Tourism Laboratory of the Diputació de Barcelona, highlights this significant increase in visitors' economic contribution.
Daily expenditure per person per night in the region saw a 28.7% increase, reaching 76.5 euros. The largest portion was for food and beverages, at 41.6 euros. Other expenses included 10.8 euros for miscellaneous items, 10.4 euros for shopping, 4.6 euros for internal transport, and 4.6 euros for entertainment, leisure, and culture. Tourist tax collection in Vallès Occidental amounted to 1,192,175 euros, a 6.0% increase from 2024.
Regarding the origin of tourists, domestic tourism from Spain accounted for 51.7% of total travelers and overnight stays, with 41% of these coming from Catalonia. Among foreign tourists, French and English nationalities were the most numerous, representing 22.4% and 13.1% respectively. The average length of stay increased by 8.5% for domestic tourism and 5.9% for foreign tourism.
The profile of the visitor in 2025 remains similar to the previous year: 67.6% are men, with an average age of 44 years. The primary reason for visiting is professional (42.4%). The majority (34.6%) travel alone, while 18.8% travel with colleagues, another 18.8% with family, and 17.8% with a partner.
Despite a 4.6% decrease in the number of travelers arriving in the region, overnight stays in hotel establishments grew by 2.6%. This trend resulted in a 7.6% increase in the average length of stay and a 2 percentage point rise in hotel occupancy. The accommodation supply experienced a slight decline in the number of tourist beds, with a 0.9% reduction in establishments and one less bed overall. However, hotels, rural tourism establishments, and hostels each added one establishment in 2025. The average commercialization price for hotel establishments was 4.5% higher than in 2024.
