More than thirty volunteers at the Matadepera Senior Center have halted all activities this week to protest the City Council's decision regarding the center's long-term coordinator.

The conflict centers on Rosó Duran, who has managed the center for twelve years. The Matadepera City Council is requiring her to undergo a legal stabilization process for her public position, despite her being only two years away from retirement. This has caused significant distress for the employee, who is currently on medical leave.

"We have revolted because we see an injustice. It is a shame. It looks like a makeshift patch."

Councilor Núria Garcia defends the move as an unavoidable legal requirement under public employment laws. However, opposition leaders Gabriel Pirla and Nil López have criticized the administration for a lack of humanity in handling the case.
