The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested two men, 48 and 46, in Ripollet on January 13 and 14 for operating an illegal marijuana plantation that was fraudulently connected to the electrical grid.

The investigation began in December after officers suspected the existence of a plantation in the ground floor of an apartment building on Avinguda Mediterrani in Ripollet.
The search warrant was executed on January 13, leading to the discovery of 313 marijuana plants. It was also confirmed that the premises had no legal electricity supply and were fraudulently connected to the general network.

The electricity fraud detected by the utility company technicians exceeded 12,000 euros, in addition to creating a serious fire risk for the residents of the building.

The arrests of the two men, aged 48 and 46, took place between the afternoon of January 13 and the morning of January 14. The alleged perpetrators were released after testifying at the police station.
