Works on the Pare Alegre promenade in Terrassa are about to begin, pending only the final bureaucratic and technical procedures, after receiving approval from the Catalan Waste Agency regarding soil quality.

The project, which will transform the city's southern entrance, includes the construction of 91 homes and a new socio-health center for the elderly by MútuaTerrassa. Additionally, a new roundabout is planned to eliminate traffic lights and streamline traffic, connecting directly to the Ronda de Ponent to decongest the Doré junction and the urban core.
The initiative has overcome the environmental hurdle with the approval of the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) in February 2026. Now, the Terrassa City Council awaits the developer, Somia Singular Homes, to finalize pending technical requirements and submit the financial guarantee for the sector's urbanization. Public space improvements will be carried out simultaneously with the construction of the new buildings.

"The Waste Agency has indeed done its job, it has provided the reports. We are awaiting some minor technical details that, in this case, depend on the developers and the Urban Planning service, and in principle, everything is aligned, it should be imminent."

Jordi Ballart · Mayor of Terrassa
The mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, confirmed this week that the process is in its final phase, with the most complex part already completed. With all stakeholders in agreement and the necessary reports on the table, it is expected that works can begin almost immediately once the final bureaucratic steps are cleared and the building permit is granted, although a definitive timeline has not yet been established.
