Canovelles is working to restore normality after an episode of exceptionally intense rainfall, with an accumulation of 346 l/m². The mayor has participated in coordination meetings with the Firefighters and the Local Police.

The Canovelles City Council has held a coordination meeting with the Firefighters and the Local Police to manage the consequences of the exceptional rains that have affected the municipality. The meeting, held at the Olympic Palace in Granollers, was attended by the mayors of the most affected municipalities, such as Granollers, les Franqueses del Vallès, and la Roca del Vallès.
The main objective was to coordinate the planned actions for the coming hours and define the cleaning and repair tasks once the emergency phase is over. About twenty Firefighter units are available to support the affected municipalities, assisting in cleaning public roads and homes affected by water ingress. Citizens needing this support should contact the Local Police.
The Municipal Crisis and Monitoring Committee has met to assess the situation and coordinate municipal services. Another coordination meeting is expected this afternoon. The rainfall episode recorded 346 l/m², and the Firefighters carried out 441 operations, 229 of which were in Vallès Oriental.
During the night, incidents related to electrical panels were resolved. The Local Police continues to work on immobilizing a car on passeig de la Ribera and a truck on carrer del Vallès. The Municipal Brigade, along with cleaning and maintenance companies, is working intensively to return to normality.
Planned actions include cleaning obstructed drains, such as those on carrer de Sant Jordi. The Territory area is working to repair damaged spaces, removing earth and debris on carrer del Molí de la Sal, in Can Quana, and on the camí de la Bòbila. Rural paths are also being inspected for possible landslides.
Several properties affected by the floods have been inspected, with immediate interventions and planning of nearby actions, such as repairing the wall of Ca la Tona. Social Services have assisted vulnerable individuals in two particularly affected homes.
From 6 PM onwards, heavy rain is forecast to return. The City Council urges citizens to exercise extreme caution: do not approach rivers, streams, or flood-prone areas; do not enter basements if there is a risk of flooding; and move to upper floors if water enters the home. It is recommended to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the instructions of emergency services.
